Foodies are prone to tell you that when opted out of compulsion regularly over a period of time, salads and green bowls can get a wee tedious. But that won’t be the case at Salad Life, the latest food offering from Zorawar and Dildeep Kalra, popular in the food universe as the names behind Massive Restaurants Pvt Ltd. Says Zorawar, the founder and managing director of Massive Restaurants, “We combat green snack tedium at Salad Life by infusing every bowl with Massive’s chef-driven flair. Yes, our innovation team plans regular menu rejigs to spotlight seasonal Indian produce like monsoon greens, winter root veggies, and summer mangoes, ensuring freshness, relevance, and excitement year-round while staying true to nutritional transparency.” Now this sounds appetising.

Born from the culinary minds behind Louis Burger, Slyce Pizza, and Nashville Fried Chicken, this salad IP that operates out of a cloud kitchen is the freshest addition to Massive Restaurants’ delivery-first portfolio. The food entrepreneurs are calling it a young, unapologetically fun brand that believes eating healthy shouldn’t mean compromising on taste. Think innovative, scrumptious salads and green bowls, and the delivery pioneers at Massive Restaurants will bring to your doorstep the same no-corners-cut, no-compromise philosophy that defines their sister brands. The company currently operates under critically acclaimed, multi award-winning brand verticals of premium fine-dining restaurants with the signature Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra, the Smart-Casual Dining Restaurants with the brand Made in Punjab, the modern Indian bistro concept Farzi Café and modern pan-Asian bistro concept Pa Pa Ya, cuisine agnostic modern ‘freestyle’ bar & kitchen – KODE, high-energy dining concept – MasalaBar, offering a cutting-edge, post-modern & stylish bar, for an immersive dining experience; and unlimited grill and brewery concept – BBQ’D.

With health being the primary ticker amidst urban gourmands, the idea is to dish out crave-worthy, satisfying experiences in a bowl prepared with hand-picked, chef-curated, and fresh ingredients. “Each bowl is built to satisfy—not just your calorie count, but your cravings too. You also get to know what’s in your bowl because every product comes with clear, detailed nutritional information,” says Dildeep, the director of Massive Restaurants. And building on the sustainable angle is also the smart resealable packaging that is built for the real world—desk, car, gym, or Netflix couch.

Zorawar has always believed that food is not just about feeding people, it’s about creating memories. “My journey has been one of passion, risk-taking, and constantly pushing boundaries to showcase Indian cuisine in ways the world hasn’t seen before. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see our efforts make Indian food stand tall on the global stage,” says the food entrepreneur, adding, “My father, Jiggs Kalra, was my biggest inspiration. I grew up surrounded by the stories, aromas, and philosophies of food. With our food ventures, the idea was to blend tradition with innovation and to build concepts that could resonate both in India and globally. Looking back, it’s been an exhilarating ride filled with learnings, triumphs, and the joy of seeing people fall in love with our vision.”

The biggest lesson Zorawar learned from building and scaling multiple brands has been that consistency and customer trust are everything. You can have the most innovative idea, but unless it’s consistently delivered, it won’t last. With Salad Life, they are applying this learning by ensuring every bowl is not only healthy but also bursting with flavour—so that people come back again and again.

The menu was designed by the dedicated innovation department at Massive Restaurants, where food experts study growing market trends and then create menus tailored to the current preferences of the target audience. “For serious gourmands, the biggest takeaways will be the bold fusion of global flavours in chef-curated bowls like the Grilled Chicken & Hass Avocado Salad or Falafel Hummus Salad, proving healthy eating can deliver restaurant-level excitement without bland compromises,” says Zorawar. Dildeep adds, “The very reason why Salad Life was conceptualized was because we wanted to plug the lacuna for flavourful, nutritious food that avoids boring health options. We aimed to create chef-curated, delivery-first bowls blending taste, freshness, and wellness for urban, health-conscious consumers in India. Hence, the novelty factor in the taste was heeded primarily.”

Considering Massive Restaurants has been known for crafting spaces that are dramatic visually while serving food that is tasty and invokes memories, what made the Kalras adhere to the cloud kitchen concept for Salad Life, we ask. “We chose the cloud kitchen model for SaladLife to capitalize on Massive Restaurants’ heavy expansion in the online space, aligning with the surging trend of online ordering over physical dine-in stores. This approach keeps capital requirements significantly lower compared to building dramatic interiors for full-fledged restaurants, while leveraging our existing cloud kitchen infrastructure for efficient scaling. It allows us to deliver chef-curated healthy bowls swiftly,” explains Zorawar.

Dildeep elaborates that the IP aligns perfectly with health enthusiasts’ routines by offering quick, delivery-first bowls packed with fresh, seasonal ingredients and clear nutritional breakdowns, fitting seamlessly into busy, wellness-focused lifestyles without sacrificing taste. “Our USP in the crowded healthy meal space stands out through MassiveRestaurants’ chef-driven innovation with dramatic flavour profiles in every bite and elevating salads beyond basic greens to gourmet, guilt-free indulgences. We prioritize trend-responsive menus that make clean eating addictive and exciting for discerning urbanites.”

Even though the identity is Indian, the cloud kitchen caters to a global palate with bold, international flavour profiles across its vegan, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian menu, featuring dishes like Burrito Bowl, Grilled Chicken & Hass Avocado Salad, and Falafel Hummus Salad. It is also interesting that the food bears Zorawar’s signature of bold flavour innovation and transforming “boring health food” into chef-curated bowls that blend indulgence with wellness. Dildeep’s influence shines through in the brand’s aesthetic vision, visual merchandising, and meticulous design sensibility, elevating packaging and presentation to premium, Instagram-worthy standards reflective of her role in Massive’s experiential spaces. “Salad Life shakes up the tried and tested salad rut with a gourmet edge. Deconstructed global fusions like Falafel Hummus Bowls crafted by our innovative chefs for layered, umami depth,” she informs. With a wide-ranging menu that features vegan, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian options, the cloud kitchen offerings also include a variety of signature salads, healthy rice and quinoa bowls, soups, wraps, sandwiches, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and guilt-free desserts.

Hero dishes such as the Burrito Bowl, Grilled Chicken & Hass Avocado Salad, Falafel Hummus Salad, and Granola Tiramisu Parfait are crafted to balance taste, texture, and nutrition, while maintaining full transparency of ingredients and calories. Are the dishes also suited to people with certain health concerns, we wonder. Zorawar ensures they are. “Salad Life’s bowls are well-suited for people with health concerns such as diabetes, weight management, or heart conditions, thanks to high-fiber veggies, lean proteins, and balanced macros. We want to reach out to every foodie who is health-conscious and craves clean, nutritious food without the monotony of bland options. That should include urban professionals, fitness enthusiasts, millennials, and families seeking quick, flavourful meals that fuel their active lifestyles. After consolidating our presence in Delhi NCR and Gurgaon, we shall also roll out to Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad by mid-2026,” elaborates Zorawar. Sounds like a thoroughly healthy plan!

The Salad Life Mission: To make clean eating cool, convenient, and something you actually look forward to. Whether you’re a salad skeptic or a kale convert, Salad Life’s got a bowl (or wrap) for you.
